View from Corris Corner of a military jet banking hard through the Mach Loop turn point in the Welsh valley system

Corris Corner is where you watch aircraft make one of the most dramatic manoeuvres in the Loop — a sharp banking turn as they change direction through the valley system. Positioned here, you see jets arriving, turning hard, and departing on a new heading, giving a very different perspective to the transit views at spots like The Bwlch.

The approach involves a climb of around 300 feet from the roadside, with approximately half a mile of walking. The terrain is rougher than at The Bwlch and the route less obvious — carry OS Landranger 124 and do not attempt in poor visibility without hill walking experience.

If Cad West has a busy day, aircraft banking into Corris Corner after passing can give watchers at Cad West a second opportunity on the same sortie — making the two spots complementary.
