Heartbreak Hill earns its name. The ascent is long and demanding, but the reward is a panoramic view spanning both the Bala and Dolgellau valley systems — giving a real chance of seeing aircraft traffic in more than one direction on the same visit. On a clear day the views are exceptional.
This is a location suited to experienced hill walkers with proper kit. The walk in is approximately 1.8 miles and involves significant height gain. Carry OS Landranger 124, appropriate clothing for all weather, food, water, and full navigation equipment.
